Millinery
International Felt Makers Competition
This millinery project, created for the Feltmakers’ Competition, is inspired by ballet dancer Natalia Makarova. Designed for an award ceremony, the headpiece uses free-flowing shapes and hand-modelled wire to capture her fluid movement, celebrating her artistry through sculptural, wearable art.

Throughout university, I’ve experimented with various millinery techniques, from wirework and buckram shaping to felt steaming and complex structural pieces. This hands-on experience has expanded my knowledge and boosted my confidence in both traditional and contemporary methods.
